AI Research: planning for disruption

Companies in a broad spectrum of industries have already adopted artificial intelligence (AI) in a number of business settings. Initial adoption has targeted specific business disciplines, including customer relationship management (CRM), inventory management and task scheduling. Already, this is bringing automation from the plant floor to the front office, where it will impact not just production-level line and staff employees, but managers, executives and other white collar professionals.

As enterprise software evolves to incorporate AI more holistically across the value stream, we expect to see disruptive change that will affect not just individual companies, but entire industries, the global economy and society as a whole.
